Yobe State University Resumption Date for 2nd semester 2024/2025

INTRODUCTION

Yobe State University recently announced its resumption date for the 2nd semester 2024/2025 academic session.

Yobe State University has confirmed that all students, both fresh and returning, will resume academic activities for the second semester of the 2024/2025 session on 7 July 2025. Hence all students are expected to be back on campus to begin lectures in earnest.

This was deliberated on by the school management and its important all students both new and returning take note of this change.

There has also been an adjustment in the academic calendar for the 2024/2025 academic session for 2nd Semester. This was decided after an ETTC meeting held on the 2nd of July 2025. The changes are as follows:

ACADEMIC SCHEDULE

Lecture Period

• 7 July 2025 – 27 September 2025
  
  Classes will run for 12 weeks straight.

Examination Period

• 29 September 2025 – 25 October 2025
  
  Exams are expected to last for 4 weeks.

Marking Period

• 27 October 2025 – 15 November 2025
  
  Lecturers are expected to mark scripts and compile the scores within 3 weeks.

Result Processing and Moderation

• 17 November 2025 – 20 December 2025
  
  This 5-week window covers external checks, departmental reviews, and final approval at all levels including Senate.

The resumption date for the 2025/2026 Academic session is however yet to be deliberated on. Students should pay close attention to the school website as well as this page for any new updates or information.
